Ahhhh, gratitude. It’s such an overused word in the field of personal development - for a reason! It is the ULTIMATE hack for a happy, well... anything! Hate your job? Start a gratitude list about all the things you actually don’t mind about it. Feeling mad at your partner or kids? Gratitude list! Plateau’d when trying to lose weight or trying to hit a new goal at the gym? Gratitude list about your body! Feeling overwhelmed when trying to start a business? Gratitude list about your business!
It works for anything, really. And when I say WORKS, I really mean it. When we start thinking about what we appreciate about that thing we’re frustrated with, we stop feeling so frustrating. We come to peace with where we’re at right now. And coming to peace with where you’re at is the ONLY way to start moving past where you are to where you want to be.
So, if you’re feeling stuck or frustrated or just want to start a new happiness practice (because when we list out the things we’re thankful for, we feel happier), start a gratitude journal. Throw anything in there you need help with at the moment. You can even start a daily practice where you write out your gratitude list every morning and/or every evening. I’ll tell you from experience, it’s the best way to start and end a day. It's a simple practice that WILL change your life.
